Schools Advisory Service (SAS) is the largest supplier of sickness absence insurance in England with over 2500 schools purchasing its product. SAS has been providing this service to schools throughout England and Wales since 1997 and has been working in partnership with the NAHT since 2002 to develop its absence insurance product and following further success in this area it is only the company that has been awarded preferred supplier status from the NAHT.

This service is a comprehensive recruitment advice and support service. We provide general employee relations and employment law advice and guidance, offering practical support in addition for reassurance that the school is complying with all the necessary employment requirements.
Second Opinion Service (SOS) If a school is applying policies and procedures relating to discipline, grievance etc and it is not sure that it is following these policies and procedures correctly or it has some concerns about the advice it has received then Schools Advisory Service can offer SOS.
We offer a range of payroll services from a fully managed payroll service by SAS with minimum involvement from the school. This includes PAYE payroll reporting requirements, including Year End, reports for the schools accounting package and payment of salaries and other deductions including pensions. Alternatively the school could be supported to run a payroll with minimum involvement from SAS, where they just provide and maintain the payroll software and give the relevant training. A helpdesk service and hands on support is offered with all options. SAS will also ensure a smooth transfer from the schools existing payroll provider.
To provide each school with a bespoke professional service to ease the burden of financial management within the school this service includes; provision of support and advice in all aspects of school finances and advice on how to operate your own bank account. SAS would provide a budget forecasting package complete with advice and assistance on identifying and bidding for external funding.
